NEK-CAP SERVICES NEK-CAP is committed to helping people thrive and ending poverty for future generations. Services include: Healthy meals and snacks for children receiving day care through Child and Adult Care Food Programs. CACFP Family Advocates work one-on-one with individuals and families to provide Community Service programs to address specific needs such as school supplies, holiday needs, food, utilities, etc. Family Advocates also help with the coordination of community referrals. Employment Related Services are offered to provide job search, job retention assistance. GED Instruction is provided through Highland Community College Adult Education Program. Head Start which provides Comprehensive Child Development programs serving children from birth to age 5, pregnant women and their families. Services are provided through classroom settings and/or home visits. Housing Assistance: HUD Section 8 Rental Assistance Security Deposits and Utility Assistance Housing Rentals: Sabetha Hillcrest a 36 year multi-family complex Jefferson Village a 24 unit senior and disabled complex Home Rentals (CHDO) 12 homes Life Skills Classes for families to enable to improve to achieve personal growth and economic self-sufficiency Weatherization assistance and home repair for homes owned or rented.
