NEK-CAP, Inc. operates several housing-related services. Sabetha Hillcrest and Jefferson Village are both housing complexes offering attractive and affordable housing for the residents. A total of ten different homes that offer twelve separate rental units are owned by the agency and are also used to provide affordable housing for residents. Additionally, two Elderly Cottage Housing Opportunity (ECHO) units are owned by the agency for the purpose of providing housing for persons needing managed, or supervised care. Housing-related services include the Weatherization Assistance Program which provides energy-efficiency improvements at no cost to income-eligible residents. The agency also administers a Housing Preservation Program and an Emergency Repair Program to assist income-eligible homeowners with necessary home repairs. The agency also offers rental assistance with HUD Section 8 vouchers and the Tenant Based Rental Assistance program. Housing Counseling is offered by the agency's outreach staff. Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) funds and Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) funds are also utilized to assist income-eligible households within the agency's service area.
